Has anyone experienced this......When I bought my car off an older gent I quickly got it home and took the dash matt off to find the dash was sort of discoloured and dull. Have since armour all'd the car which only hid the problem for a couple of weeks.

Can anyone help me with a solution??

this is similar to what I have. basicly ive tried every cleaning/protectant product I can think of, and it sort of helps marginally, untill it dries out and it comes back again. Weird thing is, in some places you can scratch it with your fingernail and the top coat comes off. but no amount of wiping with products removes it.

Lol, good thread revival.

On this subject though, you'd say a dash mat is a no-go? I was going to order one, I thought it might help reduce the damage from UV and the Sun in summer...

Mine came with one and have just given it the flick. My dash pad is scuffed as well, and now the reflection off the dash into the windscreen is crap too.

^^ polarised sunnies kills the reflection really well.

As for UV fading, get sunshade and use it when parked. Dash mats be damned!

OK boys,Ive never been a fan of the dash pad as this results in alot damaged to your cars dash as you guys can see.some of you guys have the discoloration on your dashes caused by UV penetrating through the dash pad,so the best thing is to get this stuff called FADE AWAY (I think) its a 4 step paint system that brings your dashes back to new.or the other option is to take to a ash expert in which he will do the same..not much cleaning products will make this problem disappear, this is probably the best option if its doing your heads in that much.my 2c worth!

Hi all, does anyone have advise or link about how to change the dash pad in my 2010 g6e? The previous owner screwed his phone holder to the dash and the holes are doing my head in. Please help.
