excellent :) if a light or two stays on that will be fine, just after a power upgrade and I was thinking this would get me a few kw on a tight budget, then get a a flash box and dyno tune when the car has some real mods.

would you know of any ford places or person that would be willing to do it?

standard bf f6 tune IS a generic tune..... nono2.gif

It is a generic tune but this generic tune is done by countless engineers with countless amounts of $ in testing and is tuned for the worst case scenario! If you get a bad batch of fuel it Is effectively tuned for that bad batch unlike other generic which is for power! I think this is a great idea for the budget conscious. But I don't like your chances of finding dodgey ford somewhere!

As hard as it may be, just wait till the 'proper' tune.. Or get a custom now.. I highly doubt Ford would do it anyway..

ford wont do it.. you would have to find a performance mech to do it and he/she would have to have the laptop and someone that they know or you know with the phoon to get the map off it

Nope. Vin Mismatch between the PCM and BCM would stop that.

Dealers wont touch it with an extremely long barge pole. Its doable with HPT with out purchasing any hardware only a license for the car.

Plenty of guys have copies of BF tunes. Better option would be to make the correct changes to the stock tune so it mirrors the BF tune then run it up too make sure its safe

ie: TUNE IT PROPERLY

Ive got a mate that works at Ford with BF Turbo and he flashed it with a typhoon tune but there was one thing he had to change. What ever it was that makes the oil light come.

Not too sure if any ford mechanics will actually do it for someone off the street but it might be worth asking as his car goes much better now.
