Ninja, so what do you have in yours atm? Your saying ran SIN ATF and had flare issues (on shift? 3-4th??) and then flushed it out with replacement and all came good? Genuine $$$ stuff? Transmax Z or SynTran Gulf western?

Sounds like you've had what I've got, and a fluid change can possibly be the fix..........so hoping. haha

Mate the flare started when I start using the Penrite fluid, I have since done a full flush with the genuine and had no problems whatsoever, the box now is back to how it was when I first got it

I flares the most on 1-2, and bit lesser on 2-3 and again lesser on 3-4

DO NOT USE PENRITE!!!!!

funny I should come across this post... I had a local tranny specialist do my service...used atlantic oils with a high recommendation... but now it seems to have a whine on cold (sounds like the oil pump to me)... changes are a bit hesitant on cold but seems to be ok when hot... it also thumps from 5th to 6th on low revs,.. very interesting. I was disappointe at not using the genuine ZF oil.. was only 50 or so bucks dearer.

I just dropped my box out past month to fit a strengthened flex plate so did a service also. I filled her up with transmax Z. Seems to be doing the trick pretty well.

Tuner told me sometimes they use transmaxZ and other times the ford approved stuff. Just depended on what the customer wanted. I'm guessing If they were worried about warranty or something. I got 4litres of transmaxZ for $120.

Depends on if its a full flush or not.

Around 8l I think is what oil manufacturers have written in their listings for a dry fill.

When I got mine flushed with a different fluid they used probably 17l of a 20l drum.

You can't just remove X amount though and replace with X amount of oil, there's a proper procedure to it.
