Zf Fluid

That is what im alluding to from early in the posts, ZF have an oil that they sell and by the sounds of it at a high price cause they can and have made people think its the only oil for their boxes.

But I would say if you got all the specs about their zf oil you would probably find there is another company making an identical oil that is just as good and cheaper probably, but zf wont approve it.

I PM'd silver ghost about the GW Syntrans stuff seen as though he's using it, here's what he had to say...

done 7000klm on it so far it has been changing gears better than when I bought it my car has around 400rwkw was 330 before on 12psi now running 17 to 18 and havent dyno it since but it flys

Pretty sure Penrite do an oil for ZF's http://www.penriteoil.com.au/tech_pdfs/102%20ATF%20APPLICATIONS%20UPDATE.pdf

I have Transmax Z in mine....no probs so far....

At this point in time Penrite has totally pulled their SIN ATF off the market completely, ZF's were having problems after problems after using their oil. Nulon Synthetic is another one that's been recommended to stay off of as it is also based on Castrol Dextron III which is TOTALLY UNSUITABLE for ZF applications.

There could be oils simular to that of ZF but it will always be a gamble but

For folks like I rather just play it safe :buttrock:

I have a xft built box with Transmax z oil but find it sluggish when cold but really firm changes when hot

Hey BOSCO have you tried the genuine ford fluid in ya trans...im running the genuine stuff in a XFT trans...feels good, sluggish when cold but as yours is good when warm...I got warned off Transmax z fluid by Bruce...

guys when reffering to the oils your talking about is there any part numbers u can throw up at the same time?

Nope Simon said transmax z so that's what I had bruce put in he said the same but simon built the box so he should Know
