Hey all, Im new to the Turbo scene, is there a way to adjust the PSI of the turbo by myself or does it have to be taken in to a mechanic to adjust. Im always keen to learn different things about the XR6 Turbos so any help will be greatly appreciated.

custom tune mate I wouldn put those generic tunes in... there is a few little mods you can do your self though that are quite cheap and will help out wen you do decide to tune it...

What self mods would you suggest. I have been looking at a K&N Air filter and Big Mouth CAI

Fitzy, I was in your boat a few months ago, heres is 2 pieces of advice.

1/ The easiest mod by far, the F6 air box with a K&N, should be able to pick this up from anywhere in-between 200-300, if you feel like cutting holes in your air airbox, you can pick the second snorkel up for up to $100 and the filter for about $120. This mod will offer a difference of maybe 10-15kw with a tune.

2/ Take the Nike approach, as in "Just do it" that's what I did. process west stage 3, exhaust and a tune, then you make around 500rwhp and you can sit back and watch your gay mates catch up.

Thanks for the advise guys, my only concern is if I do mods to the engine then it voids the warranty and then if something factory goes wrong then it will most likely cost a bit to fix.

@TOUGH - love the expression of sitting back and watching your mates try and keep up haha. classic!

Hi Fitzy,

Adjusting your boost will void the warranty. So if you plan to do that might as well go all out.

Boost adjustment will usually also mean timing adjustment which means custom tune which means xcal which means find a tuner.

Hope that helps.
