Well the time has come to say good bye to the zf and in its place a fpt/6boost custom spec th400. Reason for the change is because I'm enjoying racing so much and I /we want something better suited and stronger than what a zf can offer, that and because of the ongoing limpmode issue its just p1ssing me off lol.

Can't wait for our first hitout in abit over a month id say.

You know where to send the zf and tailshaft if you run out of storage space ;)

We use castrol transmax z in the zf & have done with it built & when it was still std. if ya talking about the th400 though there just waiting on a few parts to start assembly & not sure what oil we'll be using but if Joe Gibbs race oils make something to suite that's more than likely what we'll use or what everyever the builder recommmends

At least someone listens to what I have to say

I find that ARP bolt washers are way too thin diameter wise. A 12mm ARP head bolt washer has a OD of 19mm. I dont know if this is the type of washer you used. I have not played with a B or F series heads but on performance heads I have done, if there is room I like to machine the flats where the bolt washer sits on as large as possible. I then get the biggest diameter washers laser cut to fit in that space. Also cut it out of pretty thick steel. On the heads I have done I have usually been able to get a 25mm diameter, 8mm thick washer to tighten down the head. What this does is just spread the force of the top of the bolt more evenly over the head. Every little bit helps Now you may not think this does much but I have done this with a head that was a little soft and the ARP washers would sink into the head but with the big washers it just solved the problem. Didnt sink at all. Your laser cutter should have the higher grade steel that they usually stock but you dont need ground washer, just clean up the washers with a die grinder when they come back from the laser cutters.

Defiantly something that's gonna become more and more of an issue as these new big turbos are used more. We had this issue last time and had to fit a set so hopefully it minimilises future damage. It's not far off coping a good hiding so well soon find out
