Hey relentless xr6

Good time mate. It's interesting to see that everyone with a Stock Clutch seems to be getting 2.1 60 footers no matter what the power level at the wheels.

Thanks

Tys

Hi orangeute338

Mate thanks for posting that clip up. I noticed minimal amount of wheel spin, Great work.

It's good to know that with a bit more pratice I might hopefully gt under the 12.5 mark as our mph was the same.

I have spoken to a few people now since that 12.7 run and I think I am going to try ride clutch/wined out 1st gear for longer as I know wheel spin is the biggest killer.

Thanks mate.

I got some more vids on youtube of incar under my name. yeah my car doesnt wheelspin at the track just the chirp chirp as is only just breaks traction, that was with the nankangs though they are super sticky and were 265s on 8inch rim, usualy everything is heat soaked and it has no power untill the top end, that's why I get pretty good mph but slow times. manuals are hard you either bog off the line or tramp. people say burnout doesnt matter with street tires but I dont agree. when I dont do a skid you can feel it is sticky as you roll the car stops cos of the grip you have to creep forward with the clutch more then you would if you were just on the street. but when I do a skid just tramps cos has to much grip. very last time I was there I did a 6k step off and back end tramped as arse stepped out towards the wall:D also my car made 285kw but not sure the psi that was probably only like 12psi(so rich though, never got it retuned after putting in bosch fuel pump) but at the track I wind it up to 16psi usualy only run 13flat with 12psi

also how does ya car feel between gears? I think my throttle body sync is a bit mixed up cos it never seems to get full throttle as quick as I do....that usualy makes the manuals slower something in the ecu torque limiting so you dont explode the box.

Hey Mate

I will youtube some of your clips -Cheers

Interesting reading that mate, I run Kuhmo's and I think I have enough heat in them but wheel spin more than Tramp? I might give it a bit longer burnout and see what happens?

With the gear changes I can notice a little change on the street (could be my shifting to and using the throttle)- To be honest at the track I haven't paid that much attention as I am just try to get the thing to 400M ASAP - I will try and have a listen/feel next time I am out.

Where you heading out anytime soon chief?

for shifting I found the billet rip shifter to be the best on the market and the best feeling shifter out there it is a little noisy and clunky when your just cruising between gears but when you give it a hit its smooth and easy to find gears, also tire pressure if you are running street tires run normal tire pressures street tires are not meant to ripple. I am currently trying to fit a set of old school xD tramp rods but the shock absorber mount is giving me grief its going to require some modifications to get them on.

Do you guys race at wsid???

Hey Mate

If you don't mind me asking, where and how much did you pay for the billit rip shifter? That sounds good.

Also I am in Brissy so I go to Willowbank.

Great mate cheers, it will good to see how they go. I am at the stage were I want to do something to help it to 60 foot ASAP.

Just trying to work out were to best spend the money (which isn't a lot ATM)

I love the Manual box eventhough slower down the 1/4 just great to have on the street.

I would love to strengthen everything, put some slicks on and just give it hell and see what it could do??? but at the same time its good to be able to drive to the drags try and get a PB then drive home and do F/all to the car.

I will keep a eye out on this topic mate. I hope you get your Tramp rods sorted with minimal fuss.

Take it easy.

I wont be heading out anytime soon my car is in a million parts, im making up a new rear end with 4link and ditching the springs (got some pics in the ute section under 4link). shifters are ok but I did the same with stock shifter compared to the mal wood with the shorter stick. but if you still have the standard setup ditch it quick cos the difference is amazing the stock shifter has to much rubber and is sloppy as. I do second gear burnout in the wet 6k for a few seconds then hold it onto the track upto the lights.
