I know of people doing that too LBrennan.

If you get away with it then it works OK. If not and the company investigates/gets tipped off about what happened, its a criminal offence of insurance fraud and has massive penalties.

I wouldn't be taking that risk personally......

Yeah I thought about that, but a mates sister workes for RACV, she investigates insurance claims, and he told me about some of the lengths they go to, sometimes if they suspect something dodgey, and I dont want anymore proplems.. Anyway I got a few full comp quotes and the T's market value is around $13,500, so most likely it would be a writeoff, due to the cost of the respray, WTF could I get for $13,500

Ok only managed to go to a couple shops today, which I googled

Parkmore Smash repairs, quoted $2000 to respray basically both sides of the car,(not boot, bumpers, side skirts, bonnet, roof, front and rear bars) and for an extra $500 would fix up my boot, which I have de winged and have the holes.. The guy seemed very genuine, the work shop looked pretty nice from what I saw.

PJ's Panels, quoted $1500, for all the sides including bonnet, (again doesnt include, boot, side skirts, roof, front and rear bars) should have asked how much for the boot also, but prob $2000 all up. The guy there knew what he was talking about, told me that Phantom is a bitch of a colour and that the paint is a bit more expensive because it has an additive to get the flakes etc in it, which I love the look of when the sun hits it, his workshop looked a mess though..

Tomorrow ill have a look at more places for quotes, so if u guys can recommend anywhere that would be great, the hardest part is trusting them that they will do it right.

DjGsta, I tried to PM ya but it wont let me..

It sucks big time when this happens but unfortunately there are knobs out there who just don't give a crap.

I work in a panel shop so I see this every day. Last week we had a guy in with a brand new WRX which someone decided to do a tap dance on the roof and wrote Fu*k down both sides of the car.

If it was my car I would go for a full respray, it wil cost more but you won't have panels with new paint and some with old paint.

I wait for the day when I catch someone doing that to another mans car. Had it done to me at the Townsville car show one year when I had my orange ute, right across the hard cover and I only left my car for like 20mins in the days it was on!

Same same for my purple xr6t sedan. I dont even wash it anymore after all the door dents, side swipes etc.

Makes me wish I still had my old HK Expensive Daewoo so I could just run some cnts down and not worry about the dents or blood!
