I'm thinking seriously about getting one of these.

I considered getting a boost gauge and some other gauges but once you add the costs and functionality I figure this is a better option.

Logging boost and AFRs is one of the main reasons I want it. I can then get my tuner to make alterations to my tune without going on the dyno and I can analyze it after.

Does anyone have one and have an opinion on it and know what else it can do?

Are you using an X-cal 2 0r 3? either way I dont see the benefit of the datalogger built into the Innovative unit as it will probably have less functionality than the SCT units!

I run a techedge 2j1 driver and LA1 display for my car. I log afrs from this with my HPT MVPI and it works flawlessly. It is also capable of logging other inputs (ie boost, tps etc etc if you needed to) you can also configure the wideband and narrow band output to suit your logging device, you also be able to feed a Narrow Band simulated output to the car so you dont have to install another another bung for the wb02 sensor but I prefer to let the car do its own thing and log seperatly

It really depends what you want to acheive. You should be able to datalog afrs from most wideband units so it comes down to your budget and personal taste to a degree

If you want to tune via datalogging then you need to be able to datalog not only A/f ratio and RPM but also manifold pressure. Its not clear if it can do this so I would look into it. I would think that you may be able to program one of the inputs to accept the MAP signal from the existing sensor in the car. If you can get it to do this then I could see some value in relating this back to your tuning map to make some sort of adjustment.

The tuning tools out there are amazing. This sort of stuff was big bucks a few years back. Just a Motec wideband was over 2k just 10 years ago.

I have been tuning via datalogging a/f ratios for over 10 years and have never had the need to use a dyno and I still won a few dyno comps back in the early days of EFI.

Most programable ECU now relate the a/f ratio directly back to the tuning cell in the map so you can make very exact ajustment. When you get datalogged data from another instument and try and relate it back to a tuning map its not as accurate, but this is what most tuners do anyway with factory systems.

I should have mentioned that I know hardly anything about tuning and logging etc except what I've learnt in the last year or so so most of what you guys are saying is like Chinese to me. My tuner recommended I get one of these. He has one and tells me he can use the info to modify the tune. If there is a better unit for similar money I'm all ears, just keep it simple please

I use an AEM wideband in the G6et, its simple and doesnt need any extra boxes mounted under the dash, its all in the guage.

And connect it to SCT Live Link for data logging on lap top.

There only a few hundred bucks, and a wideband is the best monitoring you can have for a modified turbo car... with all the fluctuations we get in boost AFRs ect, your be stupid not to use one.

It always amazes me, the amount of people that spend thousands on their XR6T to run high boost and huge power, but dont monitor the AFRs with a in car wideband... to me its like not having a boost guage lol.

I have an LM-2 and they are very good....but I use it on various makes and models. My LM-2 analog output cable has bits coming off it for Xcal2 AFR logging, XCal3 AFR logging, and aftermarket computer logging and is a mess lol.

If its to be used on your car only then best bet is to buy a decent AFR gauge as Rapid suggested. The new MXT-L innovate AFR gauge is cheap you can wire the analog output into a fire wire cable and datalog everything under the sun. From a tuning point of view this is much better than the LM-2 but it can be tricky for some people to get their head around and get it working correctly.
