Let unfiltered air in!? Sounds like a good idea...

The bov has it's own filter, which will stop any large debris going in.

You should clean and re-oil your bov filter every 5000kms to keep it running at it's best. Otherwise you will lose performance and use more fuel.

Ford genuine floor mays will also help your car accelerate.

SRS Answer, As loose as you can without it crackin open on idle. The looser it is the faster it will open to vent boost. If you clamp it down hard it will only open on full boost throttle slammed conditions.

Turbosmart go into the setup in quite a bit of detail on the instruction which you can download from http://www.turbosmartonline.com/index.php?s=downloads

I have mine as tight as possible, sounds like a fully hektik VL turbo in the cold air when I give it squirts. Full boost it cracks like a whip.

It should be sealed at idle, no air should be flowing through it! That will be blowing boost out.

Throw a pic up of you have it setup.
