Just got back from a run around the hills.

The D'Agular is pretty ordinary. Lots of road work and pot holes.

The Malaney Kenilworth road is not too bad in most places. Two spots where the road has collapsed they have mobile red lights. Nothing major, about three hundred meters of one lane. There is a few bad potholes along the bottom past Connondale. And it's only one lane of tar for three K's just before you get to the Kenilworth state forrest. so if a car is coming the other way you will need to put two wheels in the dirt.

The Kenilworth Eumundi road is fine. As is the Eumundi Noosa.

The Skyring.... back roads to Gympie are pretty tragic. Lots of pot holes and road works.

You could still drive them easily. There isn't any more loose gravel stuff on them. But a few good holes here and there to watch out for. was a blast on the bikes. Perfect day for it.

Thanks mate...sort of confirms my suspicions.

Not scared of a bit of gravel or the occasional pothole myself but not real good for a cruise with everyone's pride and joy, so will have to stick to the majors me thinks.

No worries Tab. The majors are the only ones they have fixed properly. Mnt Mee run from the coast isn't real good either. I did that a few weeks ago and it sucked ... even on a bike.

The only long clean twisty run is the road down to Rainbow beach up here. Would be a long boring highway run to Gympie. Or you could turn off at the Cooroy exit and go through Pomona which brings you out on the Rainbow road about ten K down the way from Gympie, so you wouldn't scare the youngen's with the limited gene pool there.

Sat 25th is winning at the moment, probably be a 2pm-ish start I guess :dontknow:

Thanks again Brett...although I think a pit stop at Gympie Maccas might be in order just to get the full experience! Fck me that place is scary - not a full set of teeth to be seen.

Rainbow Beach is out unfortunately...bit too far for the guys coming from Brisbane or further south.

Anyone know of a decent place with fair prices at/near Caloundra for dinner? Apparently the Pelican Bay Tavern is pretty good, never been there myself though. :dontknow:
