Thanks boys.

For any of the guys now running at this level and beyond with these heavy taxi's it is a real labour of love - and an expensive one at that. I am just in this to be going quick, but at some point try and find some consistency and reliability so that I can actually have some fun.

Another quick peek for those that are interested.

Hey Spiro,

Thanks mate. You of all people know just what goes into a build like this and all the blood, sweat and frustration trying to get it to actually come together.

Car has the interior taken out and a kirkey race seat in it. The car has been retired from road going duties, so I didnt see a point in keeping the interior in it - especially when it all came out for some final adjustments when putting the 4-link in it. I did have the interior back in after the cage went in, but in the end I just saw it as an ongoing hassle to keep putting it in and then taking it back out again. The full dash is still in it - as is all the other internal bits - doors, electric windows, sunroof etc. I am fortunate in that the car is a dedicated race car now, so I can kind of do what I want with it. I recognise that some will say there is a reasonable weight saving by taking the interior out - I guess there is. The goal for now is to just go fast!

Lets hope we can keep it going for a bit and see where we get too.

Top stuff mate well done, Spec's ?? Or is there a thread on here already with current Spec's ??

Cheers,

No real specs page so far. I travel alot so, dont get as many opportunities to take progress pics as the build takes place.

Basics are:

Custom spec built motor

Custom spec head

Custom spec cams

External oil pump setup

GT47 turbo

Process West intake plenum

Haltech computer/ignition

SMR 4-link rear end

Strange 9" diff

NRT 2-speed glide

28x10.5 rear slicks

eboost2

Obviously there are a heap of other goodies that come into making the car go, but these are the main elements. There is not too much I can give away, most of the top 5 guys are not going to share that too publicly at this stage. The car is built by Tony Rigoli Performance (TRP) in villawood and tuned by Powertune/TRP. From what I can see, all the quick guys at the moment are running similar base set-ups - with all the little bits and pieces being either unique to the workshop or from Atomic. The car does run a couple of Atomic bits and pieces ie. billet flex plate, but the engine is all TRP's design.

The mph will give you an indication of the power.

With a change in diff gears and some fresher rubber we should see a good jump in extra mph next time out.

Phil,

As I said before mate top effort, I myself always strip my interior out, speakers etc, before racing it's only logical at this level, and reduces the strain on the driveline as well, so you won't here me stating that you took your spare tyre out of the boot and therefore it's not full weight bla bla bla

LMAO mate well done your only going to get faster ;-)

Cheer's mate, and yeah Dom and the boy's at TRP dont f*ck around, im sure it will still have lot's more in it...

Just a question though Regarding the GT47, how low in the RPM range is it starting to make boost, and what RPM is it making full boost at ?? Is it an 80mm or 88mm version ??

Also are you using NOS to get it on the converter or not...

Yeah - the boys there now how to make a car get down the track - that's for sure.

The turbo is the 88mm version. Boost comes on surprisingly quickly, but I wasnt able to be there when the guys tuned the car so dont have as much detail yet. I just wanted to get the thing out to the track.

At this stage, yes we are using gas to get it up on the converter off the line, but it is only hooked up to the transbrake. The converter is pretty tight, so to save us sitting there all day till she stalls up, it is quicker and more effective to get her moving with a little giggle gas. We have plenty of power on tap so dont need the gas at this stage for the run.

Ok mate thanks for that and no worries, was just asking as I am about to fit exact same turbocharger to mine and was wondering how soon it was creating boost that's all...

Goodluck with it all anyhow mate...

Cheers
