No. As long as they are a DOT rated tyre.

For Falcons make sure the load rating is 93 or above and you should be right.

If you just want outright grip in a straight line MT Streets are best, but pricey.

Best Bang for buck would be Kumho KU36 on the back. However, went off quickly and weren't as good in the wet.

If money no option consider Yokohama Advan Neova AD08. Also Bridgestone RE11 or Michelin Pilot Sport 2. These 3 are the 2 best in my opinion outright performance in all areas. I have ad08's in 245 on the back and they grip well.

Toyo R1R's aren't bad either but have a slightly lower tread wear rating than the others. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs aren't bad for the price too from tirerack.com and theoretically will last a bit longer too, with the same street semi performance.

While back I was very impressed with a set of Falken RT615's I had on a Commodore. Federal 595RSR's are also something to consider but getting closer to an R rated semi where you start to lose wet performance and mileage.

I you want a proper R rated semi for maximum street legal grip, at the expense of cost, wear life, stones in guards, noise etc look at Dunlop DZ03G, Yokohama A050, Bridgestone re55. I use and recommend Toyo R888 (100 wear rate GG compound on my track wheels) as they are supposed to heat cycle better.

My Federal 595RSR's have done around 13-14000km's now and I still have heaps of tread left. They are good in the wet also but who flogs there cars in the wet anyway! I never have problems on the highway in the wet overtaking in the 100km zone so to me they are good.

I will be getting them again as they are super grippy and to me no spinning means longer tyre life plus I got sick of not going anywhere when flogging it at the lights!

ray076's Nitto NT05's cant handle his 400rwkw but it is a 6sp auto also where mine is a 4speed with only about 330rwkw's

Im going to try the NT05's this weekend. They are better than the KU36's at any rate.

Have a look at the NT01's if you want a proper R compound semi otherwise the Toyo 888's - none of the ones discussed above are.

I have mentioned Yokohama A050, Dunlop DZ03G as well as R888. All of which are proper semi's discussed above. However these are not good road tyres in my opinion for reasons discussed above.

If you want tyres for the street do not go a proper semi like the R888 or things will get a bit scary in the wet.... I ran my R1R's for while on the street and found them to be the best tyre for street use I have tried. With any semi tyre on the street be prepared for road noise and tyre wear....

When are you next at Eastern Creek?

I'm doing a circuit day there June 23rd and hope to finally go sub 1min55!

Will be using my worn R888's but they seem to get better as they wear.

R888's where phenomenal in the wet on the rear of my G6ET best tyre that's ever been on the arse end of my car by a mile, the held traction everything else spins at any throttle input.
