Hi all

I have a Bosch 044 fitted to a Process West surge tank complete with quietening kit.

Pump was always noisy prior to this and quitened down a tad once kit was installed about 7000ks ago,

but still got noisy after 3-4 hours on the road in summer.

Over the past week in cooler conditions it has started buzzing like a hive a farkin angry bees after about 15 mins,

so much so that it now turns heads it's getting that loud.

Doesn't appear to be any noticable fueling issues thus far

Any ideas , my guess the pump is farked or on the way.:crybaby:

Buffy, no pongs of fuel? Might be time for a fuel fitler change and a once over on the clamps on the suction side of the 044.

Cold weather = thicker fuel + partially blocked filter = whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiir

Cavitation would of killed it by now if he's still driving around though, no??

He also would of noticed some form of detonation...

My money's still on that rubber mount being perished or the pump bracket being loose.

Buffy wouldnt notice detonation unless it was in his bottle of wild chook....

Im thinking its been sucking air and is now protesting. Vane pumps will handle a bit of air.

Your probably right about the mounts tho

As previously stated Blocked fuel filter may contribute towards noisy pumps, also worn rubber between pump and brackets, others seem to think pumps become noisy as they get older ,mmm this sounds familiar lol

044 is just a stupid noisy pump. I dont use them anymore. Dont like getting embarrassed by noisy pumps. Everyone thinks something really phucked going on.

As I ditch the little valve that comes on the outlet end of the pump (most do), I wonder if this maybe is more important than what we think in keeping the pump quiet. I never tried.
