Considering on for my car. Not sure If the x-force mild steel quad tip or the Redback quad tip is a better option?

Also not sure how well the cross over tube will flow.

Hiddeous, Redback are just a cheap alternative to stock - you already have XForce don't you? If so you will going backwards I would think.

My experience is they sound OK, deep enough but certainly not 'a head-turner' (tried a few different brands on my car when making my decision) - but I have no idea of the flow differences. XForce quad would be the pick, but maybe even go something better again if you can stretch it.....?

No worries mate. I heard great reports a while back about the APS also - did they stop making it? (I am sure they used to for a sedan?)

Without wanting to be critical, but I find the Redback and other cheap systems very similar to how a N/A XR6 sounds (don't seem to accentuate the 'raspy'/angry howl the T engine can make - its more just deep), but everyone is different in what they like? It might still be an option for you and it certainly gives OK value for money......

Yeah they stopped a few years ago, they where a sub 2k system and excellent quality for the price. The dump design wasnt the best (bellmouth dump the merged to the stock cast elbow on the turbo) but with a 4" dump and cat merged to the 3.5" main section I would be happy with one!

Id be putting redback and xforce in the same boat for the quality and expectations from the systems.

Fair point Weiner in hindsight, people probably pay more for XForce purely because of the name, importing costs etc....do you find your Redback "crackles" much?

When I had a Redback on mine it didn't "crackle" at all on the overrun (or between gears), which is why I kept searching as that's the sound I like - maybe it was just my car? :dontknow:

It looks roughly the same size as the stocker, I can't see much gain to be honest.

Agree Dillz.

OK Hiddeous, good call. I think you are right, as there are a few Ts my way that are clearly faster than mine, but I reckon sound half as good? So maybe my car is tuned poorly being stock (I still have resisted XCal etc for 5 years...), but because of that sounds great somehow?! ha ha :VB Beer:

You'l probably find your car has a rich over run. My "other" car has a 4.6ltr V8 with a Wolf ECU and 2.5" system on overun with the fuel cut on its quite as a mouse, if it let it continue to add fuel on overun it pops and crackles and fart and would give a V8 supercar a run for its money noise wise :msm:

what is your car tuned with?
