Stock Dump is 3" 4" is better but 3" with a good 4" cat will net you your 260rwkw. Keep your dump, fit a good 4" 100CPI cat, weld the front half of a stock turbo exhaust to this. Fit a stock rear section and you'l be laughing. You just wont have a great deal of head room if you want more power. FWIW BA's see low 300's @ the wheel with 4" cat/dump and stock exhaust. My old car made 380@ the tire with a 3.5" dump 4" cat and twin 2.5 so your power figure should be easily obtained with the setup mentioned above.4" dump will also cost you low down response on a low power level like 260rwkw

At the end of the day if you want much more power than that your going to need to look at decompressing the motor to handle the higher boost levels. For my money I would keep the cat /dump and fit a stock system.
zayd687 Member 74 Member For: 14y 11m 15d Posted 18/05/11 12:52 AM Author Share Posted 18/05/11 12:52 AM (edited) so just fit the stock exhaust and leave the 3 inch hi flow?im onli after 260 rwkw for now based on the fact I need to upgrade the transmission before I can go newhere near the 300rwkw zone.that will keep me busy for awhile along with other suspension/handling mods.if I change the cat to a 4 inch. and fit the catback I can get for 50 buckswould this be suited?or get the full turbo back exhaust and have the bloke weld in the 4 inch into the stock setup and run it from the 3inch dump. If your serious about chasing big power down the track sell the xt and buy and xr6t as a base. Tough advise but it will save you bulk $'s in the long run

Dont waste anymore money. Only grab a full turbo exhaust if you can get it for say (free - $50). Tune it ,it will be fine.
