Did the mod too, wished I'd got off my ass and done it sooner!

I think Ford may deliberately have the sub out of phase with the speakers, as when its back in phase with the speakers, It can be heard from outside the car quite clearly.

Perhaps they did this to keep the older drivers happy?

Before the wires are switched its only able to be heard inside the car, after its been switched, it starts to sound like a P plates doof doof machine...

I payed Extra money to get my FG with all the bells and whistles and I get rewarded with a crappy "Premium" System.

So from what it seems Ford may have wired the Subwoofer out of phase what a let down for the FG at least It can be fixed, I'm yet to try this.

From what I take it then, for us guys thinking of putting aftermarket 8" woofers in the factory spot that they will also benefit from this wiring mod? I'm deciding on a Kicker, Alpine or JL woofer to go in the factory spot.

I swear I heard this about the BA premium sound sub as well - switching the polarity.

Will report back if this makes a difference, It sure will but will see if its a good difference or not.

Wow I was not expecting the difference to be so big. Not sure why people are cutting and shutting, took me literally 5 minutes from start to finish, nice and easy free mod.

So happy now, I won't even go out and get a new sub, this is ample enough.

I am either unco or had stubborn clips! I spent effin ages following advice about the clips and just couldn't get the wires out. Was simpler to cut.

Next step is a bit of response butyl deadener to add to shelf. Cheaper than dynamat (no doubt for a reason) but works ok.
