I bought a Alpine headunit, Alpine typeR 6" splits for the front, alpine typeR 6x9s for the rear, all driven by alpines 600W 4ch amp. I'm pretty happy with the result, I had a similar set up in my VL Calais, except I had a lower rated amp, and kenwood 7x10's in the rear. I mainly listen to rock music , and with my 7x10 setup I didn't need a sub. With the 6x9's I'm lacking a little bass, but not much. Rather than buy another amp+sub for a fraction more bass, I have an idea!....My question is: Can you convert the factory premium sound amp+sub to rca's and then put them into the back of a after market deck?? What wires on the factory amp can be converted to RCA's?I know the factory amp+sub is pathetic compared to the fully amp'ed type-r's.... but it should give me the fraction more bass I crave. And its still sitting in the car, amp, disconnected.I've searched the forums, and found lots of people wanting to after market sub from the factory, I want to do the opposite!! Surely someones done this before...Thanks!

That's the simplest and easiest way to run an amp for a sub ... When I first got my sub, I took the pos and neg input from before the amp and wired it into my own speaker level input in my Pioneer amp. It was sh*thouse to say the least. I then hijacked the signal from the rears and put them directly into the speaker level input in the amp and it's a lot better. Factory amp and it's corresponding signals are terrible =]
