I have no doubt they make the said power, but I just find it hard to believe they do

So which one is it?

Yes, AndrewD's comment is mutually exclusive, but think I know what he is getting at. I have driven a GS, and yep, sounded really good and auto was excellent, but simply wasn't fast enough stock (just didn't feel like it was making the numbers claimed) to warrant an upgrade. And those terrible stickers........ :pooh:

I (personally) thought the F6 was the better package so that would still be my choice. Im not knocking the GS though, all the Ts and FPV are great cars :icon_ford:

why do u need to start with the fpv f6 wen compairing the motors

if your gonna change out the turbo on the 6 anyways to make it compet with the 5Lv8 u migh as well start with a fg xr6 turbo with leather and opt it with the extras I was going to buy my fg new got some prices and managed to find a 2011 with 12klms on clock leather zf for 42000 so by my adding you could buy a brand new fgxr6 pull out your motor for a atomic or build your motor it put it together with the most amount of power the drive line can take and your happy all for under 57k probly with 450rwkw I understand the power curve of v8 is much better but the xrtra cost cabin noise fuel insurance it just dont cut it for me a supercharged v8 is ment to be insaine not 10% better .ha its funny but im a Expensive Daewoo fan but honestly holdens suck the only thing they did right is the Ls9 6.2L supercharged but there so freekin expencive, still a monster of a engine a real supercharged v8 just my 2 cents dont mean to upset anyone, ford just wasnt trying to make a monster, just beef up there failing na v8 range. the fg xr6t is much better value for power

A mate of mine and I went on a road trip, both filled our tanks to the max and drive exactly the same route and covered over 400kms... At the end we both pulled into the servo and refilled our cars, over 400kms my GS had used less than 2l more fuel than his FG F6... So to say theirs worse on fuel is rubbish as we both drive the same and get the same kms to a tank and the same fuel consumption...

Also AAMI charged me $200 less than the cost of the F6 and my rego is $200 more per year, so how they are more expensive I cannot understand...

I was in the same boat before I bought the GS and I did all the research that was required and at the end of the day they are almost exactly on par cost wise, and I got mine for 50k, there are some GS sedans out there now for sale for mid 40's...

Food for though???

I Love the GS ute!

how you were saying way back the manual ute was sh*t compared to the ZF sedan, I heard that the exhaust systems on the utes bring the power down for some reason and the sedans are actually pulling more power and they great thing is they run real rich so with just a tune my mate went from 268rwkw to 374rkw!

and its a beast to drive...if only the GT cam out in a ute but I think its the same engine just tuned more? I could be wrong

The Utes only run 3 psi, sedans 5. Coz of the exhaust.

I'm sure a manual ute with an exhaust an tune would be quick, but then have the same issue of not hooking up.
