What many people don't realize when you're buying an x3 is that you are also paying for the most advanced ford data logging hardware and software available. Nothing else even comes close. You also have the ability to store 3 tunes as well as the factory tune. SCT is the premier tuning hardware and software and in the end of the day it's not that expensive. Ratter makes some very good comments above.

HPT make constant changes to the software as user request but they have alot of ground to make up.IMHO SCT is a better choice for a workshop and an End user that wants there car tuned and then wants to drive it and forget about it.HPT is a better choice for an enthuisiast who likes to tune there own car and is prepared to work with HPT to get the most out of the software for there individual car.If I was a set and forget end user ann X-Cal 2/3 and a expert tuner like Ratter would be the go. Being that Im a budget conscious enthuisiast who doesnt mind waiting for changes I've gone with HPT (of course if i had the option to buy Advantage 3 that toady got i would have jumped at it too )Oh and 1 last dig at SCT, Anbody wanna buy and X-cal1

I'm saying how long can you have r&d costs on your unit for? You would think they would come down in price now that he has covered all the costs and it's now all profit. Because if that was the case well maybe tvs should be still 10k not 500 bucks.

But hey guess what, without it, you will never make your car a beast. True?
