Morning all,

I have to keep pinching myself...am I really here? A website devoted to, what was once, my worst enemy...FORDS!

Long story short, I've always been a Late model camira man until the BA arrived. A mate of mine purchased an XR6 [CITRIC] and I fell in love.

Been thinking about upgrading my 99 VTII SS, but what with? I have taken everything for a test drive and I have finally found a winner, you guessed it, an XR6T.

I will be placing my order this week...so, help a guy out, congratulate me...oh, and any of you have any tips, things you would have done differently, let me know...my order will look like the following, so yell at me and call me an idiot if I am making a mistake on anything...

XR6T manual of course

Phantom (still not convinced) ;)

18" alloys

Premium Sound

Sunroof

Momo shifter

Sports Steering Wheel

cheers

Chris

I would think twice about the sunroof, nice to have but not really worth it, I have had several over the years and they are a pain to look after (clean etc) plus wind noise etc

They are one of those options that suck you in at the dealership and are great to show your mates but not worth the money spent.

As a massive Ford fan I am glad to see another Expensive Daewoo defector but to be honest I have long grown out of the which is a better car argument, every car is made for a certain purpose and in saying that I still cant understand why anyone would buy a KA

Welcome Crisso

Zak

NEWBIE!

hehehe and an ex-Holden NEWBIE at that! <_<

Who says Expensive Daewoo owners can't be re-educated? Onya, mate ... come on over to the side of good and right.

Now you've made a good start, but we need to do something about that specification list of yours ... don't get me wrong, you just can't go wrong with an XR6T, but you can improve the experience with a little tweaking of the options list.

XR6T manual of course (Of Course!)

Phantom (still not convinced) (NO NO NO! This is a big mistake, did you actually look at the colours offered in the BA range. If you did, you would have realised that there is only one standout colour ... HgAg! That's Mercury Silver ... now go back and have another look. When you come to your senses and choose the right colour, we can talk about admittance to Team HgAg and all the special privilleges that come with it.)

18" alloys (Nice!)

Premium Sound (Oh yeh, now you're talking. Got your Zeppelin CD's handy?)

Sunroof (Don't do it, takes a long time on the assembly line and others have had squeaks and noises, etc.)

Momo shifter (Love mine.)

Sports Steering Wheel (Don't have one, but those who do swear by them)

Now for the stuff you missed ...

You just MUST get Premium Brakes ... absolutely awesome!

Leather Interior is well worth it IMO ... mmmmmmm, leather.

Another absolute must is the Estrogen-Free Pack. Trust me, you'll appreciate this one every time you want to hit the loud pedal ... and generally that's everytime you take it for a spin.

Ok, so you have a few pointers to start with, now get back down to the dealer and right the wrongs, buddy!

... oh, and welcome to the site.

I agree with every thing Ken says, (except his pathec attempt to elevate the numbers of silver car owners, so he doesn't feel so bad about having a cr@ppy colour)

esp the premium brakes, got'em and love em.

skip the sunroof and 18's to get the brakes.

I wasn't coinvinced about phantom till I got mine, wouldn't want any other colour now!

Welcome Crisso!

All sounds good, (except I must agree with Ken on the paint ) HgAg absolutely ROCKS. I have friends with Phantom and they can't clean it often enough, I've cleaned mine ONCE since new! It just never looks dirty.

Also, the 18's are available aftermarket, check with your local tyre guy what he would give you as trade in for the standard 17's, you might be able to do the upgrade cheaper thru him, and get to choose a good tyre!

GO team HgAg
