this is what wikipedia sais.

In 2007 300 limited edition "R Spec" versions of the BF MKII F6 Typhoon were made available. This model was equipped with several upgrades including stiffer suspension and 19'x8" alloy wheels which sought to improve the car's handling. Additional upgrades also included leather seats as standard, R Spec floor mats, Interior Car Console MP3 accessory port and F6 R Spec build plates and badging. Colours that the R Spec Typhoon was released in included Winter White, Lightning Strike, Vixen, Neo, Ego, Bionic and Silhouette. Apart from their badging, R Spec Typhoons can be identified by their Thurderstorm Grey inserts seen on the front and rear bumper bars, fog light surrounds, rear spoiler pillars and alloy wheels. The R spec model was also available as a special order in custom option colour choice, At Least Two are known to be in Fords "Conquer Blue Metallic" with the Dark Ardent inserts. (One being car number 141 of the 300, which is also one of ten imported to New Zealand and the only manual of those 10)

From memory the R spec was an improved version for the track day racer with improved handling that was achieved by revalving shocks for more aggresive cornering. But this model did carry (again from memory) a $10,000 premium over base spec Typhoon. Cheers

It was a little more than an R Spec badge and mats, but they were still hurredly belted together with hammers and had ordinary build quality, water leaks in the boot, bad panel alignment, a crappy speaker and amp setup, numerous rattles and to top it off the rear brakes lost the Brembo calipers which was a stupid effort at cost cutting. They became a respectable performance when the suspension was binned and replaced, the crap bushes were replaced, a real intercooler was fitted and 2 or 3 warranty visits to Ford were completed especially regarding noisy diffs. Having said that once they are tarted up and flash tuned they are a fairly decent car but theres a lot that have been very abused 4 years down the track, mines still got real low klm's and is as good as new to look at because I don't think ford will keep making turbos for much longer (don't flame me its just common sense in light of fuel prices that bother the multitudes) so mine will go on blocks very soon and I will start all over again with a 335.

I bought the first BA Phoon in WA 013 a 6 speed and it was a better car than the BF IMHO except for the clutch dramas. Simon was starting Xtreme and we used it for the first experiments for flash tuners and it got the ba jesus hammered out of it after it had done 1000klm and it never broke or missed a beat.

More like $1,500... But most were sold well under RRP anyways as they were a last ditch runout thing before the FG.
