I had a play about on the FPV site and went to the research option and configured a GT and a GT-P with the same options as my Turbo.

I paid full price so the T was $56K drive away no more to pay (sorry!).

To do the same thing in a GT would be 70K (67K plus on roads).

To do the same in a GT-P would be 80K (77K plus on roads).

So,

Given my 16,000 klm old T is worth what? 46K?

Would you update and pay 24K or 34K for a GT or GT-P?

I am thinking about a GT. But maybe I need to go novated lease, but that would be another thread wouldn't it?

Well 'Al'

I sold my T privately for 44k, premium sound, SS exhaust, manual, tint, tow pack, spats, mats, headlight covers, boot liner, momo steering wheel and gear shift and BMC carbon fibre intake filter.

Best I could get as a trade in was $38k.

Best price I could get for the GT was 67.5k drive away, premium sound, FPV steering wheel, stripes, tint, mats, spats, and a manual (of course).

Is it worth it..........SH!T Yeah, too F uckn right!!!

I am currently running my T on a Novated lease ,my company grosses up my pay by 25% to run a car pre tax. At the end of 3 years on 15000 ks P/A

I will have to get about $19K for it to break even after 3 years. Worst case scenario from a personal budgeting perspective.

Important to note we buy boggin loads of Falcons (xts) and landed my T on road for $41K(Sorry Guys)

Last car an XR6 VCT seies 2 I picked up $7k in the wash up.

Looks like a series 2 or new model white GT or T FPV (depends on what goes hardest & handles for best your buck) in another 2.5 years.

Redhawk , you reckon the wait is killing U ???

Mods will have to suffice in the interim , first being those slimline plates.LOL

Hi Steve,

l reckon if you got $44k for your T you would have done very well, that's all we got. You can expect to lose around 22% in the first year, this seems to be the average used in the industry so l am told.

The GT was $65k on the road with a few options. Its farking awesome, just do it!!

Is your car a work deduction in some way as that can make the upgrade pretty painless. It is for me so that probably encouraged me to do the upgrade sooner rather than later, its something to look into.

There is no comparison between the driveability of the T to the GT and for me that's what its all about. Cant beat a V8, the torque of the Boss is amazing. Pulls from 1000rpm in 4th like a truck

Cheers Simon

My Accountant advised me to keep away from leasing, main reason was the k's I had to put on the car......kills the resale. Secondly there is no fleet discount for the GT's from Ford.

WhiteTee....I paid 46k for my T, drive away, no lease, so I had the freedom to up date when I like, sold it privately for 44k..... personally you can stick leasing .......too many restrictions. Comparing my situation with guys at work who are leasing......I'll own the GT outright in 4 years and paying no more per month than they are, that's incuding running costs etc; and they will have heaps of residual.

Simon, that's why we did it...........just need to get it!!!

One day......one week......one month..........too bloody lonnnnng!!!!! :(

Yeah l agree Red, leasing can be restrictive.

We borrow the money, buy the car and claim the tax benefits at tax time each year. l do all my calcs based on a 50% retained value after 3 years with 75% business use. Leasing lowers your taxable income significantly and this can become a problem if you have other -ve geared investments. Then there is FBT which reduces the more kms you do, so as you say Al you have to drive the arse off the car to reduce your FBT liability.

But a GT as a company car is a wicked perk
