Driving home from work this arvo I copped a few rocks/boulders from the back of a passing truck across my bonnet and into the windscreen. Resulting in a massive dint in the bonnet, scratches back to bare metal and about 5 chips in the windscreen (don't know how it didn't smash it hit that hard)

Just wanted to know what you reckon the best option would be? The cars silhouette in colour and this is the only blemish on it so you could understand how pissed off I am atm lol. Has anyone had a bonnet fixed and resprayed recently or you reckon it would be easier to just find a bonnet in silhouette and put that on? Maybe even a xr8 bonnet, the paint should match perfect shouldn't it considering the cars basically still new. Oh its a BFII.

sucks to hear that news mate, id get prices for both a repair and respray then one for a replacement bonnet if you can find one in good condition. I never follow trucks they always drop stuff and flick things up from the road.

I just priced a brand spanker xr8 bonnet- $1800...... a mate who works at ford can get me one for $1200.00- still too much. a good one from the wreckers will be 1000ish as they know insurance companies will pay that. the steel aftermarket ones are a pretty damn good fit these days. I just got one for $550.00.

Mine is as straight as they come except for a couple of paint chips and here but that's expected. I could sell it but you would have to wait until I organise a new bonnet for the car

Yeh I'm in no real rush. Gonna just touch mine up so it doesn't rust. And if one comes up at ftg or yours I'll buy it.

What about insurance? There would be nothing I could do? Even if I had there plates?
