Common thing. More noticeable in a manual. Just give it a few mins to warm up and it will go away once it reaches running temp

Plenty of other forums about this. Do a search. It is very common. I have found it worse on 95 rather than 98. Ford say they are trying to fix it but nothing yet.

my bf felt like it was surging so I took out the intank pump and found that one of the intank lines had split, fine for everyday driving but as soon as foot went down didnt matter if that tank was full it surged for obvious reasons, being a sedan it was a 20min job to look at the intank pump, but a ute is a whole different story you have to take the tray off to get access to the top of the fuel tank. that's in a ba/bf I dont know too much about fg's sorry  But if your ute isnt using excessive amounts of fuel eg. a leak, then it might be worth a look in the tank... just my experiances I am no mechanic
