As you said its a daily and you want to take it to the strip, how often are you gonna make the most of the manual and have fun on some twisty roads? Mines a 4sp auto, daily, and when I wanna have a bit of fun I chuck it into sports mode and shift manualy, granted its not as 'fun' as a manual, but its a good compramise.. Autos are also quicker point to point, way bettr in traffic.. Also the 6sp auo is miles ahead of the 4sp that im use to

If you can go find one go for a 6 speed manual. If you have a play on private roads you'll give similar powered autos a fright. Running manual imports you'll school them if you get a good start (as long as there not too crazy)A BA with an auto is still a good base, use the money you save to throw in rods and pistons, build the 4 speed and go for high 300s. That'll be a 10 sec car for under 15k. The 6 speed auto will new to be built at that power level too. The manual will never need to be built. If you don't want crazy 1/4 times, just a fun streeter ild look for a manual. 300kw auto is boring, same in manual will never be.

My BA has done almost 150,000 kms and the suspension is buggered.. Needs new shocks and bushes and alot of other little things..I'd spend the bit extra and get a good base (BF 11) and worry about mods later.. You'll thank me in the long run.. Mura Back Again.. Donating Members 281 Member For: 14y 3m 18d Gender: Male Location: Geelong, Victoria Posted 04/05/11 02:05 AM Share Posted 04/05/11 02:05 AM Hey mate and welcome I was in a similar situation about 6 months ago. I had a Honda Civic Type R FN2 that was worked making around 300rwkw and wanted something a bit easier to drive as a daily as that thing would just wheelspin in 5th gear and chirp 6th.. Best thing I can suggest is just testdrive testdrive testdrive. I had my heart set on a BA Mk I manual for like 11k but then test drove a BF MkI auto and fell in love. If I could go back I woulda bought a BF MkII but I got a great deal.I love manual cars but the ZF auto is just that good in them that I couldn't pass it up. I thought I might get bored with it but 6 months later I still love the sports mode sequential and it's also easier on the tyres But again personal preference mate, good luck hope you get a great deal.
