cheers Ben.

So your running a standard zf?

see my driving style is pretty rough lol, I do drive it pretty hard, then again I blew a piston ring after 20 thousand km's :(

and that's when it was making 377kw, so not sure wat went wrong

I heard u cant put a converter in the zf's yet ?

and its pretty expensive to build 1 to handle say 1000hp right?

Have u raced yours with the zf and wat power are u making on pump??

cheers johnny

U NEED HELP BRO..lol. :roflmbo:

You dont have much of a choice mate if you are going to run 500 + rwkw , im not keen on the glide or a three speed or anything aftermarket either , I know simon at nizpro has built a zf for a cliant that's got 500 rwkw in an fg f6 red and I see it driving around daily so it must be holding up. It might pay to call and get some info. Hope that helps.

Yes mate, still standard ZF..

Blew my engine at 15K! :)

Haven't raced it yet and will not till the box is done (company car). It is fine 90% of the time on the street, but does slip pretty bad in the top end at times.. Car makes 490rwkw on pump and 610rwkw on E85.

The ZF is not all that expensive to build in conparison to a full conversion. However depends on what you want to do with your car, my car is 90% street driven and is also my company car, so I really wanted to retain the ZF for drivabilty.

cheers

Ben

Johnny?

Guys johnys idea of street driving is virtually on par with How he drives at the track lol. A zf won't be up to the way he drives.

How many 5th gear skids do you think a zf will hold up?

Post up some more info on the build man people here will be interested in hearing about it.

Henry.

Cant believe we have to still resort to a old series trans from a long long time ago to be able to hold power. There has to be a way around it, like powerglides, C10's etc can hold alot more in comparison to previous years, hopefully the 6 speed and 4 speed btr will have that same feat.

Henry by the looks of it theres only gonna be top gear skids from now on lol (2nd gear)

Ive decided to go for a glide as the car will be cracking 9's

and dont think a 6speed is capable of that lol..

Wish me luck guys, updates of build will be on shortly, once I finalize everything..

XYZs has held up with 610, but the OPs plan is to drag his, alot. With an aim of 9s I don't think a ZF with a 2700 converter will get it there. No point playing around with a zf and chasing your tail when you can do it right the first time. Knowing this guy ild say the glides already been ordered.
