Its more so the muffler size/design that the pipe size, Ive made some silly loud 3.5inch systems and some super quiet 4inch systems, always comes down to the muffler style and positioning.

The Xforce 4inch muffs are fairly large and free flowing, and most likely packed differently to the 3.5inch ones... Dont get me wrong, their not over the top loud, but definately not quiet, you can happily cruise on the freeway and not suffer drone, but you will hear the note, where as the 3.5inch system will be fairly quiet under the same conditions.

Also the mild steel systems are usually deeper in note due to the thicker, heavier piping and muffler casing.

Yes, there's a twin tip Y piece system that fits up, has the twin 3inch double walled tips, or a single 4inch chrome tip. Basically the same as what comes on the ute systems.

Can you get a oval twin tip muffler like some of the ones on the ba,bf's. they have them on the x force web site they say they are universal mufflers.eg http://xforce.rtrk.com.au/?scid=40953&kw=4476915&pub_cr_id=8673350473

IMO I think the y peice looks :pooh: so dose the single

Don't mean to hack this old thread, but I'm looking at upgrading my exhaust.. At the moment I have a 5" cat and removed centre muffler replaced with straight pipes on my fg manual ute. I'm looking for a really aggressive note under boost. I want it to be pretty loud and sound mental when I give it some. I've heard a mates bf f6 ute with 4" dump, 4" cat into twin 2.5" and sounds really good. I need some opinions on what system to go in my ute. Would the 4inch turbo back system be the way to go or is the twin 2.5 system just as loud in an fg? Not looking to push any more than 350rwkw..

You WILL want more later. I always thought I would be happy around 360kw. now I have 400 and allready thinking about an e85 setup and more boost for 450. The chase for HP is addictive and endless. At least if you go the 4" you wont have to go bigger later.
