Huh! Connecting one wire! Those engine tuning companies must be making a killing!

Auto or manual?

Not many stock auto's will light the tyres in 2nd gear.

ZF auto. I had it tramping in 2nd today.

CB your stock T breaks traction in 2? Is this on gear shift or as it comes on boost?

Mate, my BA auto doesn't break traction per se in 2nd, just has the TC flicker around 3,000rpm or so when it comes on boost (its not a hp monster!). When I say stock, it runs a K&N filter, basically no mufflers, larger dump pipe, 98 ron and better intercooler - mine has nothing like the power of serious players on here, hence why I say its mostly stock so as to not embarass myself! :surrenderwave:

All I was really pointing out is that all Ts I have driven should have traction issues in 1st, and maybe second/third depending on power, and that I think John's car was seriously ill before it was fixed!

If that was the case, it's been seriously ill since new.

The grunt it has now is verging on silly (for a gentleman driver such as myself).

It starts whistling on 1/4 throttle and if the road is damp I have to be somewhat cautious when giving it a squirt.

If the surface is dry, I'm starting to go sideways giving it a squirt during a gentle curve.

The traction control doesn't seem to be dealing with it well and it's going sideways already before the T/C light comes on.

I've booked it back at the shop to get the waste gate actuator checked out once and for good.

Do what someone already suggested, buy a cheap $20 boost gauge and just hook it up through the window and see what boost it's running, if it's more than 5-6 psi you have a problem. It's cheap and takes about 5 minutes to hook up.
