Hi guys,

Short story is I've seen a car I want. The owner works away and is due for a 3-4 week stint on Thursday so he wants a sale before then.

I've looked at the RAC website, but they don't do mobile inspections anymore, nor do they inspect on the weekend. With this week being so short, I can only get the inspection done on Wednesday which is too late.

My girlfriend found 3 companies that claim to do RAC styled mobile inspections. Can anyone share experiences with any of these companies? Anyone heard anything good or bad about these? Any others?

A1 autocheck - http://www.a1autocheck.com.au/the-photographic-evidence

Autospections - http://www.autospections.com.au/index.html

AAC vehicle inspections Perth - http://aacvehicleinspectionsperth.spruz.com/

I can't drop this on Simon(xtreme) one day before and expect him to be free for a visit, so I was planning on asking the mechanic to pay particular attention to gearbox and it's function, engine function and turbo function and condition. Anything else I should stress?

Do you reckon I'll be alright if the car feels and drives ok, and the report is good?

Thanks guys!

Dan

Yeah they do BAjoe,

But as it's the weekend they don't do any inspections. Nor do they do any mobile inspections anymore...

I'm guessing it's an XR6T? What model? Surely everyone here can tell you the important things to look at and listen to.

If all else fails don't buy it. Don't let the seller presure you into something that may not be right for you.

Thanks guys!

Appreciate the offers and advice. I'm going to view it and test drive it today so I'm sure I'll have a rough idea of what's going on. Just want that extra piece of mind when making the purchase...

Just concerned about things like, trans, engine, turbo, etc.

Thanks again guys, I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey Aaron,

It was modified slightly, but it turned out to be a big let down...

Was one of the very last BF II XR6T's - Upgraded everything, leather, premo sound, better boy kit, rims, brakes, induction, cat back exhaust and custom tune.

Drove it stock and it was slower, looser, and just all around no where near as good as my BA. If all the BF's are like this, I won't even both with a BF T - Maybe not even with a phoon. Not sure if it was thrashed or just not a great example - But IMHO not worth the changeover price...

Have to go and try an FG now... :bangcomputer:

Might hang on to mine a little longer and see what comes up. However, whatever new car I choose, I'll still need an inspection.

Cheers
