Did you put the deposit on a credit card ??? If you did.. Ring the card and put a hold on the payment. Then ring the dealer and ask for the sales manager and tell him the deal, and that you have put a hold on it. Tell him you put the deposit on the car as is as it was displayed and that is what you signed off on. I am taking it's second hand. If it was new they could do this but 2nd hand Nope cant be done.

This happens a bit and they get away with it. But they cant.

There will always be cars for sale and idiot dealers and fools that get sucked in. Don't be one of them.

This car is brand new, and yes I put the deposit on my credit card. I'm going to threaten them with ACCC action if I don't get it for the original price.

I think that's the best idea so far.

Thank you everyone for your input, it is much appreciated, I'm only a young fella, so I appreciate your collective knowledge.

Sam.

Good news. I called the ACCC they were on my side, I then threatened the dealership and they caved.

The sales guy even whined to me on the phone that the 500 bucks was coming out of his own pocket.... Can u believe that? Trying to make me feel sorry for him.

Anyway I get the car Thursday for the Sale price. Thanks everyone.
