I'd like to hear what cars forum members would purchase as a selfish toy.

As we cant say "Money is no object", most toys would probably have some age on them. No hard and fast rules but lets say:

1. You can only have one.

2. You only have to please yourself.

3. You can only spend $30k.

4. It's probably going to be 20-30 years old.

Some that would tempt me are:

XY GT replica.

928 Porsche.

6 series Bimmer.

Clubman type roadster. (Westfield, PBR)

Austin Healy 100/4.

Full house 1310 Cooper S.

Lets hear yours.

30k?

Would have to be a big block Dodge Charger or big block Plymouth Road Runner/Dodge Super Bee.

Obviously it wouldn't be a matching number Hemi or 440 Six Pack.

More than likely it would be a 440 4 barrel or a 383 4 Barrel

........but that is certainly nothing to sneeze at!

Clubman rep of some sort for mine.

Just love the minimalist idea for a sunday morning drive up into the mountains. Next best thing to riding a bike.

For something a little more civilised (ie one that SWMBO would approve of, and actually ride in), possibly a Triumph TR4 or TR6.

1969 Mustang Fastback. for sure. Midnight Blue, Red or Gun Metal Grey in colour. <Although a convertable would still be a choice, Blue with white leather interior...mmm>.

Hmmm,

Some interesting stuff so far.

I had forgotten that the XE ESP was a pretty good package.

Think ed etc, is fully into a longed for dream. Got ALL the details.

Plonky certainly showing his muscle car preference.

Utah's 65 GT350 sounds good.

Another for me would be Healy 3000 but at $30k it would be a bit of a basket case.

Another sedan that still has good cred and road performance amongs those who know, a well worked over BMW 2002 or 2002Tii.

Mack

I would certainly never knock back a well priced Porsche 944 Turbo or a 928, nor would I raise my nose at a 560SEL Benz or a Jensen Interceptor

However for sheer 'wow' factor, rarity and presence it is hard to go past a classic American or Australian muscle car!
