Can someone tell me who to contact to find out what options I may have for the ute? If I get a aftermarket screen fitted down in the tissue space in the console, can I get all the rest of the features of this system? What can be done for us unfortunates that don't have premium?

Well I decided to take the plunge, got the Blaupunkt BA Multimedia Interface, DVD and Sat Nav Installed in my car.

Must say the guys at Focus Car Audio in Sydney (Simon) did an awesome job, would highly recommend them, the effort gone into the install was fantastic.

The DVD is multi region, and the picture and sound quality through the BA Premium Sound is fantastic.. few minor teething problems at first but all was rectified quickly with no problems at all.

I have yet to play MP3 CD's on the unit but it is compatible.

The install for both the Sat Nav + DVD is around 3-4hrs, the unit uses 2 remote controls one for the DVD and one for Sat Nav, i was quite amazed that the Premium Audio system has the infrared ports already at the front.

The remotes basically aim at the front of the Premium Unit and you can switch on DVD then press another button and switch on Sat Nav.

I was completely blown away by the Sat Nav how accurate it was, a drive which normally took 40 mins to visit a relative took around 10 minutes less due to some neat shortcuts the unit showed me.

I was also amazed by the fact that it was spot on accurate. It allows you to enter a house/business address and number. The number I entered was my relatives house. On arrival the unit said "You have reached your destination" and i was exactly outside his house.

I would highly recommend the Blaupunkt DVD and Sat Nav for anyone looking for an aftermarket upgrade for the Premium BA system. You have to get one!

Special thanks to Elisha & George at Blaupunkt for there help and also Simon at Focus Car Audio for his expert installation.

Ill try and take some pics of the unit for you to have a look.. or you can have a look at our next cruise...

Chris,

Is your DVD player a Blaupunkt unit or another brand?

I know a lot of installers are actually not using Blaupunkt players.

It is the Blaupunkt Brand. I can recommend you to an installer if need be. Done a great job too
