I own two Holdens - a long term project is a 1964 EH Prem sedan and a VZ SS LS1 ute for daily duties, so please be nice I admire all makes of cars and not biased towards anything inparticular. I'm looking to upgrade in the next few months or so and I don't really want another V8, or a Commonwhore for that matter. Everyone seems to have V8's and I'm kinda tired of them, nothing really unique, done to death and I never seen any nice F6 utes on the road. Time for something different.Just want to know the cons only of the FPV F6 T56 manual utes. Don't worry I know there are plenty of pro's Mainly the weak points through the driveline, issue's with lowering/suspension mods and clutch issue's? Mods I would only plan on doing would be quite basic to most (cooler, exhaust and tune). Would something in that case be relatively reliable and safe from going "bang"? What alternatives are there for head units as I notice the headunits in the Falcons are fixed to the whole console..?Cheers

Worm A much better forum Silver Donating Members 3,808 Member For: 16y 5m 18d Gender: Male Location: Victoria Posted 11/04/11 12:49 PM Share Posted 11/04/11 12:49 PM Don't have to worry about cvs in a ute...Fine for dumping...Pretty sure they come with a strong twin plate clutch in FPVs...cooler, tune, injectors, plugs, full exhaust and actuator upgrade will see 350rwkw in a ute... Upgrade your fuel pump too... Probably won't need a surge tank in a ute...$4500-5000 will see this power... And you'll never look at a v8 again! Toast Member 7 Member For: 14y 10m 15d Posted 12/04/11 02:46 AM Author Share Posted 12/04/11 02:46 AM Cheers for the replies. I've seen some have issue's with lowering FG utes? Is this the same with the B series utes? I know the ZF is a a great thing but I'm not really that keen to get an auto, I've just always been into manual's. I feel I have more control than in an auto.300 - 330rwkw, would you say it's reliable?

They have a twin plate clutch and that should be fine too.The main thing is to pick your tuner carefully, a lot out there can talk but only few can tune... Toast Member 7 Member For: 14y 10m 15d Posted 13/04/11 05:18 AM Author Share Posted 13/04/11 05:18 AM Appreciate the info. My cousin has a BF XR6T sedan with around 350 at the wheels so I'll have to try and get a passenger ride in that one day. Thanks again

I have a BF2 ute and beleive the fpv is lower than the xr as std so you may not want to drop it much.I've had a 40mm drop in front and think about 60mm in the rear and that is as low as I would go, not ideal in nz with our sh*tty roads but it manages. I do think I need some airbags for the rearend to load level when I fill it with crap.
Toast Member 7 Member For: 14y 10m 15d Posted 05/05/11 06:31 AM Author Share Posted 05/05/11 06:31 AM Just another question. How often should you service these cars? I currantly get my ute serviced every 10,000k but it's not really on the same page as the turbo Fords
