Here's an actual email I received when the scammers made an enquiry on my last vehicle:

Thanks for the prompt response..I am ready to buy it now as a birthday gift for my Great

Father and I am at sea at the moment as I am a marine engineer and due to the nature of my

work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but I squeezed out time to

check this advert and send you an email regarding it. I really want the car to be a surprise

for my father so I wont let him know anything about the car until it gets delivered to him,

I am sure he will be more than happy with the car. I insisted on paypal because I don't

have access to my bank account online as I don't have internet banking, but I can pay

from my paypal account, as I have my bank a/c attached to it, I will need you to give me

your paypal email address and the price so I can make the payments asap for the car and pls

if you don't have paypal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to

www.paypal.com.au and get it set up, after you have set it up I will only need the

e-mail address you use for registration with paypal so as to put the money through. I have

a pick up agent that will come and pick the car up after I have made the payments...

Thanks

What a load of rubbish!

Exactly same thing happened to me! I ended up having to close my paypal account and change all of my passwords because of these :pooh: heads if I can remeber it was also on 60 mins or something not to long ago.

Well the one I almost got sucked into was right up to me pretty much sending the money before I said nah this is crap and he actually rang my number as it was in the listing and I couldn't understand a single word this toss was saying. After about a min of his utter ramble crap I just told him where to get off and hung up and sent a nicely worded email and that was it from him. :buttrock:

Same thing happened to me. I put my BA XT on gumtree for sale. In 1 and a half hours I got the text.

Said he works off shore and has bad reception so email him.... Said he would pay through pay pal and someone is coming to pick it up....

I had it trying to rent a house off the internet.

The house was brilliant. Good thing it was too good to be true. Or I am a cynical old *beep*. She even emailed a copy of her passport. Bloody stunner. Wanted to know if she could rent a room back a month or two a year. half of me was like grr baby grrr. Luckily the cynical *beep* won.

Also lucky I have family in the feds and got her passport checked before I sent the money for the bond and rent.

Still have The emails. Damm it... bloody too good to be trues
