Hey guys, as you might know I purchased SLASH's C4 package. I was abit worried at start with the box being in WA and me in NSW but I can tell you everything went well and im very happy. Dean has been very helpful with all my questions. Thanks heaps mate.

With that said the C4 will be going in tomorrow night/saturday at a mates workshop. I'll do a full write up with pics.

Quick update: Gearbox in but not without our issues.

Tailshaft needs to be shortened 15mm and also a new inhibator switch needs to be wired up as the car doesnt start. Hopefully with any luck we can get this sorted today otherwise sometime next week.

Ok all better. So yesterday evening we started on my C4 conversion, firstly laying everything out in front of us.

After taking the the front section of the exhaust out as well as the tailshaft we then work on taking out the BTR gearbox which can be a little tricky, luckily my mate is a mechanic.

With the BTR out we install the atomic billet flexplate with ARP bolts to suit.

So after some dinner (KFC) our friend rocks up in his new ride.

So some heli's later its hard to get back to work, but looking at the C4 and the BTR we measure it to make sure but notice the C4 is slightly longer by about 15mm.

Regardless soon after the C4 is in the BTR's place looking the goods.

We put the tailshaft in to see and our thoughs become reality, the tailshaft needs to be cut, shortened and re-welded.

We left the gearbox at that stage, so I decided I would take the time to do an engine and diff oil change, aswell as a new fuel filter and that was it for the night.

Next morning me and Wayne my mechanic (Snap-on National Mechanic Apprentice of the year) are on the phone to anyone we could find to modify the tailshaft, but not to our luck so we have to wait till monday.

Waynes car was built from stratch by him, and was at this years Summernats and recieved multiple awards and Top 20, as was his dads chev in the Top 10

Anyway knowing we wont get it finished this weekend we start working on the transcooler install, we decided the best spot for it infront of the front right wheel behind the front bar and UBP intake.

As you can see this trans cooler also has a fan attached which we will be wiring up to a rocket switch that you might have seen on the manual boot surround.

While Wayne was busy mounting the transcooler I took the liberty to take off my IC and give it a quick polish and also wash and clean the K&N pod from the intake.

With the transcooler mounted we start running the braided lines to the gearbox, some clipping up and 30mins later we have

With that all done we move onto mounting the ratchet shifter, a week earlier I had removed all of the centre console so it was ready to go. Wayne also made up an aluminium plate to cover the hole from the BTR shifter.

$7000ish or more depending on what you buy, $5000 for trans $1500 for stallie $500 for shifter and parts then you can add to that $1500 for custom tailshaft if you want big power and reliability
