I reAlise this is a thread dig. But just wanted to say I've modded up it up and am now running 270.8rwkw without anyproblems with the box so far. I am planning on leaving it at that power figure and oneday getting a bf2 or make a project of this one and build my own motor with a t56 bolted up.

It's bloody fun to drive now. Reminds me of my old R32 gtr. :)

Good stuff, take care of it and you might be alright but I'd still be saving for a 6 speed as they can go with out warning.

Just be gentle and smooth and the 5 speed will be fine my brothers xr has 300 rwkw and the 5 speed is coping nicely

I have 278 rwkw with a T5 and its ok so far! My clutch does slip in 3rd-5th gear though so I guess that's saving the gearbox a bit. But its like anything if you give it a hard time everytime you drive it it wil eventually break. I think mal wood does T56 conversion for around $3850 if you want to be on the safe side. I also know a guy with a BA Ute that was running 400 rwkw with a T5 and it lasted a little while he told me he ran a special gearbox oil in it but dont remember exactly what it was.
