Hey guys.

Now I know that any bf xr6 turbo built after 06/06 is better even if its still a mk1. Is it only because of the typhoon internals?

What exactly does it have over pre 06/06 models? Is there really much of a difference?

Cheers guys. :icon_ford:

From my understanding identical to Typhoon, rods, pistons, valve springs, same engine just Typhoon running higher boost pressure. Correct me if Im wrong. Further, these engines have stronger pistons than FG also.Cheers

Same rods and V/S as Typhoons.

Also I'm pretty sure there the same as the FG's, I don't think they went backwards.

Cheers for that guys.

So there is probably no point in me buying a pre 06/06 model??? I found a bf turbo I want to buy but its a 06 model. It has everything I want in it, Just not sure on the month. Other then the parts being stronger. Is there much difference in the price? Or are they worth upgrading? Im wanting to be pushing 350-400 rwkw. Other then that its still a 6 speed zf box.

I think that is the limit of the good BF rods anyway, if you want to do it the right way I would buy as cheap a car as possible then forge the bottom end.

Is there a reason you want 350-400 or is it just a number?

Just a number. I want to run about a 11 down the quarter. What sort of power would I see with 60 pound injectors, fuel pump, 4" dump, 4-5" cat, twin 2.5" exhaust and a tune???? that's what I want to mainly do. Then just have a all round awesome car. But I dont want to buy something I cant really do up for fear of stuff breaking =/

With those mods about 300rwkw... possibly less. Get a decent intercooler setup and its a different story...

Oh yeah, Sorry I forgot about the cooler. Kinda new to the turbo game haha. What if I was to get one of those coolers off fleebay? Compared to one from a shop?
