I dont mind about the flutterdump but I love that intake.yeh it is getting tuned at the same time, with injectors and valve springs aswell :D so you guys reckon the big racebox?and what size pipes on the hot side and cold size normally?its a 02 BA so im prob not gonna up the boost to much as the rods arent that strong but we will see how we go!was gonna go PROCESS WEST stage 2 or maybe the racebox now...race airbox would be a waste of time if you're not chasing big power. The under battery CAI will give you plenty of noise mate. It's upto you which way you wanna go though. It will cost a lot less to use an under battery CAI though as you won't need to relocate your battery. Can't remember the size of the hot side pipes I used, I think they were 2.5". It was this kit: https://www.plazmaman.com/shop/index.php?action=item&itemId=218Comes in 2 styles, 700hp and 1000hp. They are just different sizes that's all. This cooler/CAI kit would give you best bang for buck in my opinion: https://www.plazmaman.com/shop/index.php?action=item&itemId=

Also whistles/hisses just at light acceleration. I like it! Blew past a stock BA and we had a chat later on, he reckoned it sounded exactly how we wanted his to so I figure it's good as is. I run 15PSI.

Damien_BAXR6T Member 31 Member For: 13y 8m 28d Posted 31/03/11 06:17 AM Author Share Posted 31/03/11 06:17 AM ah cool looking at things and budget I might get the UB CAI from Rapid along with the Hot side pipes :D (along with injectors valve springs tune etc).alot of sights say you cant do the UB CAI with factory cooler, but do they mean the factory cooler hotside pipes? so since im getting rid of them and using the rapid ones there is the free area for the UB CAI filter then under the battery?was also wondering, as I havent driven the car properly yet it isnt registered and has no exhaust from the dump back so not the best idea to drive it... does the factory BOV make much noise? I wanted a sharp release while being loud. I dont want a dose or flutter I just want a mega loud intake and spool noise with a nice loud and sharp BOV (yes I know that flutter doesnt hurt your turbo or anything I just prefer this sound :D ).looking forward to heaing back fella's cant wait till I can drive it! Thanks. Cheap too hahaha.Oh and I have a lot of flutter with the stock Bosch BF BOV. It doesn't vent to atmo so no PSSHT noise, only flutter. Think you'd need an aftermarket BOV to really get the right sound? I don't have experience fitting them though. Damien_BAXR6T Member 31 Member For: 13y 8m 28d Posted 31/03/11 06:33 AM Author Share Posted 31/03/11 06:33 AM so even if it vents into a plumb-back you cant get that sound? damn was hoping to be legal lol.did you tighten up your BOV so it doesnt vent? I haven't touched my BOV, just running triple the factory boost! I don't know if the PSSHT sound can happen with 100% plumb back. You can buy adjustable BOV's that go from 100% atmo vent to 100% plumb back, not sure of the models to get though. StealthFX rings a bell, check the past threads. Damien_BAXR6T Member 31 Member For: 13y 8m 28d Posted 12/04/11 03:21 AM Author Share Posted 12/04/11 03:21 AM ah k cool.due to the fact I hate doing things twice im leaving my whole cooler and intake set up stock for a couple years and then get the process west 2.5 kit. dont wanna spen 1000 on all the piping and intake just to replace it later, can spend it on other stuff ill keep yeh im guessing ill have to get a aftermarket BOV to get the sound I want as the stock one seems to be either very queit or flutter.anyways let the saving begin! k31th less WHY; more WOT Site Developer 29,043 Member For: 16y 8m 11d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 12/04/11 07:19 AM Share Posted 12/04/11 07:19 AM By the way, you can't run the UB CAI with the factory intercoolers cold side, as it takes up that area under the battery. If you are replacing the cold side kit and/or intercooler with any aftermarket one ( that doesn't retain the factory cold side under-battery pipe), the UB CAI is your best bet.
