As for being a front wheel drive. Most of the people I took for a spin and the few who got to drive thought it was awd. It just felt so planted even in the wet.The downside was backward hillbillies telling me it was a girls car, laughing because I modified a hatchback etc etc. It was fun blowing away almost everyone who came along. They really are a great car.I will throw in a comment on the focus. The two cars are the sane underneath. C type ford chassis. Brakes, suspension etc all same. The focus has better front seats and can have a sunroof. The engine sounds great but is hard to tune.Id like to see how a stock mps goes against my F6 I can't beat the modded ones :( Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/74004-cousin-sold-bf-xr6t-for-mazda-3-mps/page/2/#findComment-1092415 Share on other sites

The 3's are a good little car but when all is said and done they ARE just a Mazda and not only that but one that doesn't even have a rotary in it Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/74004-cousin-sold-bf-xr6t-for-mazda-3-mps/page/2/#findComment-1094087 Share on other sites

I always thought it should have had had a rotary like the old 808 v rx3 days. What surprised people is just how good these were with midrange power. Was like a slingshot at speed. The engine design and gearing made for a very fast road car. Great chassis too, so much grip in the corners! Pretty average compared to the current XRT's, even a BF would probably still just roll it and is way cheaper.Only reason I say that is cause he sold an XRT to get one.
