Fuel consuption was just over 10 litres the 100kms and about as quick as an BF XRT. However back seats according to the kids "were sh*t".I also looked at maintence costs and stuff like headlights from memory were very expensive, and then front wheel drive, no deal. Also drove an XR5 went as good as an old 5 litre Late model camira and front seats where not comfortable for me. Actually the best car I did drive was an 09 Senator manual but at $58000 the BFII manual with 50000k,s on the clock at $25000 just made sense. I could not think of a quicker way to waste the additional $33000. All that said the XR5 isnt bad value over the MPS it was about 10k cheaper at the time for a new one. Very comfortable front seats, gear stick was in a crap spot but I'm 6'4 with long arms. Looks to have a massive boot also. XR5 is 9k-14k cheaper depending on the spec level, so they are in a different category I would say...

MPS probably the worst hot hatch you could buy, oh XR5's are really cheap now. you better tell him to be extra carefull in the wet too

People talk alot sh*t on forums but not many talk from experience. If you haven't got or had one you won't understand.Chiptorque can flash them and get good results or purchase an xede from them and anyone can tune it.HPF can tune them in Vic but they seem to get very low power figures. Shop for parts in the us as they are heaps cheaper.-www.streetunit.comOr locally from -www.mpsgarage.com.auTorque steer is not a concern once you've driven it a bit.Spend money on dump pipe and cat, tune it. Should be good for 200-210kw at the wheels. Then a bigger turbo and intake to get to 250ish. The dump is the single biggest improvement and with a standard cat back it's not loud but has a nice rumble from inside similar to a r32 golf. I had a full exhaust and it sounded like a modified wrx at full noise. Was quicker than my FG F6 in every way but close ratio gearbox is a pain. It lapped the circiut in 62.40 sec, the Polo GTI 1.4 did it in 62.41 sec and matched the MPS 0-100 and was *just* behind in the 1/4. What's the story with that
