I haven't picked my car up yet, but I got nothing. I am a fleet buyer, the fleet discount was great (about $5,500) but the dealer wouldn't budge on any freebies

Ditto. Same discount.

Unfortunately fleet buyers get not very much. Particularly when the dealers can sell them retail so easily.

So let me get this straight. They supplied you free-of-charge with window tinting that's darker than legal. Hate to rain on your parade mate but what they have done is provided you with an unroadworthy car. This could provide you with probs if you prang it and the insurance co inspects it, or (even though the dealer supplied it) give Ford grounds to void your warranty if they really pushed it.

I had a friend who bought a car from a dealer with 'too dark' tinting. Once he failed the rego transfer he took it back to the dealer and demanded it be fixed....they fixed it

I just read another thread regarding "new features" likes and dislikes, and it appears that not everyone got free locking wheel nuts like me. Yee ha - I thought I was missing out :clapyohands:

Hi All,

We used to be a Tint-a-car dealer and unless they've used a different film on your car, from my understanding 'Formula One' is only available in one shade of darkness (35% light transmission - Legal in most states).

'Formula One' is a 'Full Metal' film and as such would probably cause interference with your radio reception. If this is not the case you probably don't have 'Formula One' on your car.

Unless you live in South Australia where 35% is still not legal then you may indeed have a darker than legal tint.

Which state do you live in?

Hello Cooltint

I ditched the idea of using tint-a-car for the reason that it was only a legal tint and there film may interfere with the arial in the glass so I ended up using another company which used a full ceramic tint call hyper Optical film a little darker than legal and it really looks good. How ever it cost an arm and a leg $475 to do a ute.

That clears that up. Do you know which manufacturer produces this film? It should be on your warranty card. The reason I ask is it's not a film that I'm familiar with but it sound kinda coool.

Not much

Rear power windows.

XR Scuff plates.

Rest of the stuff we are forking out for.

The rear Power Windows come standard.

Only on the XR6T, not the XR6 NA..... Extra cost with the XR6 NA??

On my XR6 Turbo ute with auto trans I got XR mats, XR scuff plates, MOMO shifter, towpack, tinted windows, pollen filter and headlight covers. All this wasn't actually thrown in but I managed to talk $2500 off the price so that more than covered the price of the extras. Now all I have to do is wait for it!!! Am I the only one who ordered their car in blueprint and just had to change the matching interior trim to the grey? Light blue, Yuck!!!

I managed a $4065.00 discount off the asking price for my "T" but paid full whack for the extras which included roof/18 inch rims/momo wheel+shifter/alarm/premium sound/premium brakes/mats/spats. Just on the window tinting issue I was also considering getting the illegal tint but am uncertain as to who to approach given the "am" reception difficulties experienced by some...? Any advice would be greatfully accepted
