Was told the other day that the turbo territories have the smaller turbo as used in the FG XR6 turbo's...

I could walk down stairs and pop the bonnet to check but just as easy to ask here??? They seen to spool up really quick....

ok thanks that's what I thought, I was told by a reputable person that some of them had FG xr6t sized turbo's on them....

When I change the turbo on my f6 ill will compare with the one on the TTG just to make sure.....

Nice mining!

As bunna mentioned above the TT only ever used the 'b series' engines, they only swapped to the FG engines for the SZ territory by which stage the TT was dropped (and replaced with the turbo diesel).

So if anyone ever found one it would be aftermarket.

My f6x (fpv terry!) has 86k on it and when I bought it with 80k on the clock it had been modified from new to whatever the standard turbo on it can take (fg turbo compressor). It started to develop the wharr/squack noise around the 84-85k mark. I had the original oil flushed out for Transmax Z but it still does it and I have bought some Lubegard red to add to it to see if it shuts up! this stuff is OEM recommended overseas for most ZF boxes and they say its mostly a fix for it but we will see...

I am not sure how the previous owner treated it but the car has not broken yet (front diff bushes only) and the gearbox to me seems fine apart from that farking noise...

I only raised it again because of this post.....

it had been modified from new

shouldnt that sentence alone answer all your questions?

Factory fitted, they are all the same. Aftermarket/modified, who knows.
