was just having a chat to a few mates when one came up with an idea to convert a ba/bf to awd. what would it take to put the zf 6speed with transfer case and front awd set up out of a turbo territory to say a ba/bf. what issues would arise and could it be done. im not saying we are going to do it, but would be intrested to know? with money anything can be done, is suspension changes, front end issues.and what would you think it would cost? traction would be awsome though.

Hey Mate,

Send a message to bcl about this, he was looking into this a little while ago.

IMO, it would make the car grossly over weight and even make cornering worse with major understeer issues.

just get a TTG or F6X and do that up, why spend so much for little result.

Ford had a Falcon muel with the AWD system formt he Territory, you can see it at the Ford Discovery center in VIC.

I looked into a Territory awd transplant 6 years ago into my BA, but it wouldn't fit, plus I'd have to change to an auto, which I didn't want to do. FG may be different.

From a post of mine in December 2005 "They actually did all the 4WD R&D with 2 BA sedans, in outback testing & in Norway(or Sweden, can't remember).... so it can be done."

Like many things it's a matter of how much money and patience you have.

Far more sensible just to buy a Territory if you want awd, or buy something like a Nissan gtr.

Maybe you could refer to someone in Ford engineering.

Like a lot of projects you can throw a lot of money at it, but it may never be the result to the standard you really want.

Or, you could wait a few more years and wait for the falcons to start coming out AWD.
