This is the first time I have received any kind of communication from this company and I never had anything at all to do with Westpac Bank or remember spending over 4G’s without paying. The letter is pretty official looking with full contact details website BPay etc and my full name including middle name and address obviously. I rang them this afternoon to enquire as to what was going on I first asked to speak to the person who’s name appeared on the letter but after giving them the reference number they put me on hold then came back and they requested my date of birth which I flatly refused to give out over the phone. They then put me on hold again then came back and informed me that the person I was trying to speak to who was on the letter head was not available.I’ve only had time to read one site that mentions anything about the company and a scam but it reads the same as my predicament with no mention of an outcome, so I thought I’d throw it out here and see if anybody else has had dealings with them. I only ever get letters from American Express and other banks wanting me to take out a card with them! Makes you wonder how the f*ck they get your info?$4k would hit the pocket pretty hard when not expected... Sounds pretty dodgy to me!Try put in the BPAY number to see if it is genuinely westpac banking? Or post the billet code on here and I'll check!!! Hopefully Westpac can sort it out after about 4hrs of your life on hold.

Similar thing happened to me when I was living in Melbourne , when I went to change my licence over. Some young whipper snapper with a poor driving record had stolen my full (albeit unusual) name.Go figure. As Zapper said a call to WBC will sort it out

Even though I sent details to prove my case I still copped letters from the debt recovery company. I then asked the debt recovery to claim back from Simplus the money that they took from my account that they had no right to take, and I had the evidence to prove the case. Never heard from the debt recovery company after that.Brian

Obviously he didnt pay any repayments and I didnt know about it so Credit Corp were brought in to recover the funds. That just means theres a legit company called Credit Corp, doesnt mean your letter is legit.I love it when they call you and then try and do a security check - DOB, address etc I always refuse to give my info over the phone, how do you know some dodgy *beep* isnt calling and taking your info, its all the info they need to get Credit Cards, Loans etc in your name.you can always do a little search for the company yourself and check the ABN on the letter against their ASIC listing - ASIC
