mate I just checked my t/b and at idle its definately open. if u push it shut it stalls, which confirms my theory. they do not have an aac valve like a jap car or the likes, so it relies on the t/b letting air through to idle :)

on the track none of this hinders me or helps me, I dont take my foot off the accelerator down the quarter so would have no idea if the revs hang or not :roflmbo:

I've never been down the quarter but wouldn't mind trying it one day maybe, only tracks I'm on is Winton, Sandown and Phillip Island.

Yeah it will be, there is no idle air valve like older efi cars. the PCM uses the throttle butterfly (amongst other things) too control idle speed. The idle g

hang could be caused by a tuning issue, or an air leak as the PCM can't control the extra air entering the engine, and even with the throttle fully "closed" ( which it never actually is, it is always cracked slightly) the PCM won't be able too drag the revs down low/quickly enough

I have a xr6 ute and I had the head replaced on it, every since then mine holds the revs for ages, will be in a carpark put the clutch in and the car sits on 1500 revs for 10 or so seconds then drops to normal idle

if u let the clutch out the revs droped down but when u put it back in it was holding the revs, I have only noticed it since I had the head replaced
