yeah makes sense, drop the XR6 badge other than the G6 Badge its probably the only Falcon that private buyers buy

c'mon no one buys an XT etc...

and XR8 is already long gone, although you can have a GS which is really just an XR8 that costs loads more, it does have a supercharger though but meh...

I cant wait for the XR4 behold the 1800kg 2.0L turbo falcon of the future, good on paper, but lets see how it pans out..... I think us T drivers will think it just goes like a non turbo, but feels like the handbrakes is on or something.... ;)

Yhis will be the case in 2015 when the new Ford global platform comes into play.

We may see an AWD Falcon, but a local only model will be a thing in the past. It makes sennce that Ford make one type of car for the whole world as we do not have the volume to justify a local only car.

What would make more sense is for Ford Oz to design and build the next Falcon here and export it, as the Yanks do not seem to be able to build a good large car, in comparison to the local Falcadoors.

Also agree with Zap. I always see yanks posting in youtube vids of XR6 Turbos and how they love them and wish they were sold in the states.

It will be sad to see the Falcon go, but I guess the upside is that the current crop of Ford/FPV turbo and V8 powered falcons will go up in value, especially the FPV models.

Funny seeing different car company's going in different directions.

I was reading an article recently where the boss of subaru was talking about ditching their AWD platform and going with rear 2WD. Apparantly they were pretty impressed with the dynamics of that car they designed with Toyota.

IMO, AWD in our cars would make it grossly over weight...

awd has it's place but a car like this just doesn't really work with awd or fwd. much like rwd on a small hatch is useless.

I'll be keeping mine either way, hopefully they are remembered fondly in 20+ years, I suspect they will be.
