Plonky,

will the Thexton car make its normal sound, 1 of spinning wildly out of control or getting in every one's road.

Hey Plonky,The Freak Brothers invented this you know way back then,Phineas Freak was driving his VW bug and blew his hawn at the pedestrians and they all laughed at the p!ssy sound.

Phineas was not happy so he invented his pedestrian dispersal system.

He mounted a huge speaker, amp etc in the nose of the Vdub, got a recording of a 50 ton diesel truck loaded with live cops locking up the brakes at 80 miles per hour.

He then drove back to where it all started, you could well imagine when the pedestrians crossed in front of him and he gave them a blast Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech

Heya Eddie1.

It's Ed......Christ it is a Monday morning isn't it......need more zzzzzz's.

Umm, we have the younger brother...Just the XR6 N/A and the exhaust note that is coming off our beast, mate!....It's almost there. Had a 2.5" exhaust system with hi-flow cat & muffler and Pacemaker extractors installed.

Some "T" owners have just removed the centre muffler and that has increased the cars performance by roughly 17kw and at the same time, given the XR6 TURBO automotive masterpiece a very distinct note.

Underpsi has a point, it will never sound like an 8. You can get close but it will never be fully convincing.

I heard some beautiful exhaust notes on our VIC Warnambool cruise. There was one XRT in particular, I think it was the Phantom sedan with the number plate TXR6BA (??I think??) and it sounded awesome .... I don't know who it was and didn't get the chance to find out. If someone knows who this is (NSW plates) can you ask them to post their exhaust mods??

That car belongs to Phantomxr6. According to his sig it has the centre muffler removed.

Yeah - the Mustang has a note all of its own and how sweeeeeet!!! :hrmm:

The 'other' XRT (the BLK one!!) has also had the centre muffler removed ... amongst other things ...... yet yours sounded much different. Must be the ute/sedan difference. Simple mod for the sedan with a great result .... time to call Knox Ford I think (when the other half isn't watching over me!!!!) :hrmm:

;) Hi Eddie, I fitted an APS stage one unichip and got 295kW at the engine, then I chopped out the centre muffler, 1st to straight pipes then 2X2.25 nine inch hotdogs, fitted a cold air modification and a K & N filter, all I did was spend lots, lose 20 kW, and made the car sound like a dog. Ended up putting a 2.5 inch mandrel bent stainless from the cat back, still can't find those kWs again though. If you do cut out your centre muffler make sure you keep it, they cost over $400 to replace. If I was going to do it all again, I'd be waiting another six months to see what APS, AVO,CHIPTORQUE, and CAPA, come up with in their final analysis, there seems to be too much confusion and experimentation for my liking,e.g rumours of weak valve springs, loose turbo housings too hot intercoolers, too small injectors, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. Past wisdom says just like in the days of the good Ol VL Turbo, if you give these guys 18mths or so they will finally sort it all out, if you try to find performance on innuendo, experimentation, and hear-say, you may just be in for some frustrating and very expensive  . The best gains I've ever had were in a VL turbo that Lachlan at Chiptorque did in about 92. But I got posted way over here to the wild west, where the fuel is crap and the drivers are slow. Oh to live in Qld again then I could just pop down to chiptorque on the Gold Coast and I'd have a very quick and drama free car. I only went for the UNICHIP because they have a dealer in WA.

I think that Ken may have a link to the electronic "Digi V8" which is made by the "NA Blow off valve"

I have read somewhere that a new program for the Digi V8 has been released.

It has the sound of a ....wait for it....ful sik Leyland Marina 6 cylinder with the sports 1 3/8 exhaust on it. They say that is the atmospheric conditions are right, the program will sound like Dick Johnsons '83 Greens Tuff Falcon as it screams up Mountain Straight in qualifying!
