Just picked up my T and I am at work thinking of her already.

Does anyone know the quickest, easiest and cheapest solution to making her sound more like a V8?

Yes.

Better still though, there is a product called the "NA Blow Off Valve" where you can fit it to a non Turbo car and have the 'whoosh' sound electronically.

There is a version made by the same company that makes the V8 sound electronically even if your car is a six or a four.

The different V8 sounds can be programmed in, so if you want a Ford V8 sound, Chrysler V8 sound or Toyota Quad Cam V8 sound the CPU just need to be programmed. They have the sounds sampled from production cars and race cars.

The link is www.ricecranker.com

If that doesn't work try www.rice4u.com

Price is around 5,000 Bhat.

Does the sound come from the exhaust or from a speaker?

I was thinking more along the lines of changes to the exhaust set-up or simple mods to the engine (300kW chipset etc).

I have to admit I want it to sound like a V8 from the sound of the engine/exhaust naturally, not artificially.

Thanks anyway plonky. :tonguepoke:

I heard some beautiful exhaust notes on our VIC Warnambool cruise. There was one XRT in particular, I think it was the Phantom sedan with the number plate TXR6BA (??I think??) and it sounded awesome .... I don't know who it was and didn't get the chance to find out. If someone knows who this is (NSW plates) can you ask them to post their exhaust mods??

Welcome to the site eddie1.

Don't worry we won't all take the piss, although I must admit you've led nicely with your chin.

As far as noise goes, if you've really gotten yourself an XR6T & intend to boost its power you'll love the noise the uprated turbo will produce!!!

Enjoy your self & hopefully you'll become as addicted as the rest of us.

Scotty :tonguepoke:

Behave Plonky

Heey!

Ken's not here so I must give the newbie a welcome. At least I didn't ask him if he likes lamingtons and leather thongs.

No seriously, the "Digi V8" is a great piece of electronic equipment and actually helps out with the physical exhaust anomolies that exhaust shops have to try and put up with.

I really do like the 'Le Mans' version they have with the sampled sound of a Moser. The high pitched scream of a supercharged Ford modular V8 sounds pretty special. The Ferrari V10 Formula One is also popular as is the Dodge Viper Le Mans version. This are plans for sampled V8 SuperCar sounds from Thexton Racing and Mork Racing. They should sound fat!! :tonguepoke:

I have heard though, that the sampled induction/exhaust sound of the Nissan GTR and the WRC Subaru are by far and away the most popular programs for the "Digi". The number of cars running around Bankstown/Lakemba with the "Digi" is extraordinary.

You never know, they may have a production version of the FPV GT available soon.

Call me silly, but I would think the quickest, easiest and cheapest way would have been to buy an XR8 and not a T :smilielol:

The note on the XR6T is bloody awesome as it is why would you change it? That'd be more like a Holden! Sounds 240km/hr when it's doing 60km/hr You got's to ask yourself ... Did I buy an 8? Or did I buy it's little brother that owns it in a backyard blue?

But if you want to, the only real way would be to tangle with exhausts and extractors. But once again why would you. I think this topic belongs in the Mod's Category. But anyway

My 2.2c worth.

 , a six is never going to sound like an eight. With different mufflers you can get a deeper throtier sound though. I like the Dynomax Race Magnum Bullets, work very good with turbo cars.
