Have you got an example of a regular BAP you would see?Does the (MAP - BAP)/2.036 work the same as (DesiredBoost - BAP)/2.036?

Desired boost 27 which is about 13.5spi. Thanks for the help guys. Edited 22/03/11 09:25 AM by FORDPSI
FORDPSI Member 40 Member For: 14y 2m 28d Posted 22/03/11 09:20 AM Share Posted 22/03/11 09:20 AM I also have 2 more questionsWhere in the Advantage III do you adjust auto transmission kick down sensitivity? What processor code should I be using for 2004 XR6T Auto? A3HD?

Look up the BOM website the BAP of your local area and convert to inHg. Desired boost - boost error defnately not bap! The PCM uses the error term for the PI control so the error tells you how far the actual boost is from where you have commanded it to be. Trans.....won't go into that here but pm me. FORDPSI Member 40 Member For: 14y 2m 28d Posted 22/03/11 11:43 AM Share Posted 22/03/11 11:43 AM (edited) Thanks! Only reason I asked about the processor code is I have been told that using a newer processor code on BAs is like jupgrading the firmware. PM Sent. Member 407 Member For: 14y 6m 8d Gender: Male Posted 22/03/11 11:16 PM Share Posted 22/03/11 11:16 PM (edited) OK, I have deciphered it all.Now for a couple of questions The wastegate DC is hitting a value of 1 I assume this is 1/0 as in on or off?I have attached a screen shot, it looks like the wastegate is open (1) early in the rev range (2500 rpm - 3100rpm) which doesnt allow the car to build boost (-3psi - 5psi in the same rev range) yet the desired boost is at 6.7 psi the whole time. Im confused as to why the wastegate would be open the whole time when the boost doesnt actually match the DB... Then at 3100rpm the WG_DC changes back to .87 and boost stats to build.Does this seem normal?EDIT: Ahh seems I have interpreted the WGDC wrong - found this - "In short, the higher your WGDC is, the more boost you will generate. It is more indepth than that, but in general terms, this is true."Sounds like the wastegate being at 1 means it is completely shut. FORDPSI Member 40 Member For: 14y 2m 28d Posted 23/03/11 02:38 AM Share Posted 23/03/11 02:38 AM Yes 1 is commading the boost controller closed. See below a car I tuned with a little while back had a Monza cooler and a high flow cat. Commanding 1 to keep the wastegate closed then less once it comes on boost.
